Worlds Greatest Stretch

Categories: BLOG and FITNESS.

As you know I am a big fan of stretching as it feels so good, improves our daily function and increases range of motion.

The worlds greatest stretch is great for mobilising the ankles, hips and thoracic spine (mid back).

To modify, keep the back knee down on the ground.

Worlds Greatest Stretch

  1. Step forward with your right leg, and lower your body into a lunge. As you go down, place both hands on the floor inside your right foot. Your left knee should remain above the floor—not touching.

2. Now move your right elbow inside your right foot, and reach it close to the floor. Square your hips so you feel a stretch on both sides, and try to keep your back as flat as possible.

3. Reach your right arm up,  twist to reach for the sky. Try and look at your right hand.

4. Place the right hand back down and repeat on the other side

Having signed up for Julie’s get fit for golf already I feel more motivated and have got myself out of the rut of not being bothered. Throughout lockdown I have walked nearly every day, gone out on my bike and been as active as possible gardening and around the house. However the lack of exercise for core muscles has been very lacking and I am only too pleased to be feeling re- energised as a result of Julie’s YouTube exercise regime and as so enthusiastic about wanting to do it! Thanks Julie!
