New Year’s Resolutions Made Easy

Categories: BLOG and LIFESTYLE.

I know some people don’t like to make New Years Resolutions. Maybe because they have tried many times before and found that they haven’t achieved the desired outcome and so decide it’s not for them.

💡To make it easier to achieve, simply make the goal smaller and simpler.

Eg, Instead of picking one of the top 3 goals and making a sweeping statement such as:

This year I will……….

  1. Exercise more
  2. Lose weight
  3. Get more organised

Try and break it down into smaller bite size achievable steps ✅

This could be:

  1. Instead of saying you’ll exercise for 60 mins 4 times a week, aim to walk for 10 minutes before work/at lunch, or create a 5-minute morning routine of a few squats. and lunges you can do whilst the kettle boils. Anything else you achieve will feel like a Brucie bonus.
  2. Rather than cutting calories to a super low number eg 1200 a day, try reducing daily intake by 10% and upping your exercise a little. It’ll be more enjoyable and be easier to stick to. Remember, it’s a race not a sprint. Or focus on the quality and diversity of what you eat.
  3. Start the year with a plan. Whether it’s work or home related, making a plan can help us be more focused. Take an a4 piece of paper and divide it into 4 sections. In each quarter write headings:

Priority – urgent

Must do

Would like to do

It can wait- Mañana

Then allocate your tasks into each box and you’ll have a clear plan of what needs tackling first. Work your way through in order of importance.

Focus on one goal at a time, slow and steady wins the race!

Let me know what you’re focus will be in 2023 😍
